COVE resident company LeeWay Marine is thrilled to announce the successful discovery of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s vessel, Quest, in partnership with the Royal Canadian Geographical Society (RCGS) and the Marine Institute (MI) at Memorial University. The Quest, which sank in 1962 in the Labrador Sea, was located using a sophisticated side scan sonar system deployed from LeeWay Odyssey.
“Our team was very excited to be part of this historic search,” said Greg Veinott, VP Business Operations & Programs. “Today marks the closure of a decades-long mystery about the final resting place of Quest. We thank all our partners and crew for their efforts in this successful mission.”
