Data Quality Analyst

The Ocean Frontier Institute (OFI) at Dalhousie University is seeking a Data Quality Analyst Intern to support its Data Team in assessing and improving data quality processes for internal databases and ERDDAP data services. The intern will perform exploratory and manual data quality checks to identify issues such as unit inconsistencies, missing values, and unexpected patterns, create visualizations and summary statistics, and document and communicate findings. They will also learn dataset structures and scientific context, help translate manual checks into repeatable workflows, and assist in developing Python-based scripts for automated validation. This role offers hands-on experience with real scientific datasets and data publishing workflows and is ideal for students with foundational data analysis experience, strong attention to detail, and an interest in data quality and automation.
