October 29, 2019 (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) – The Centre for Ocean Ventures & Entrepreneurship (COVE) has been awarded the Marine Technology Society (MTS) 2019 Compass International Award for the advancement of marine science and technology.
Jim Hanlon, CEO of COVE, accepted the prestigious award earlier today at the MTS Ocean Conference in Seattle, Washington. The award recognizes COVE’s work as an ocean tech business hub and collaborator and reinforces its vision of a prominent ocean economy in Canada.
“On behalf of our team, and the incredible work being done by our more than 60 tenants, thank you to the Marine Technology Society for this recognition,” said Hanlon. “The energy we feel every day at COVE reflects the current caliber and potential of the ocean industry in Nova Scotia, Canada, and globally. We’re proud to act as a catalyst for partnerships and innovative technologies.”
MTS is an international society dedicated to promoting awareness, understanding, and advancement and application of marine technology. Incorporated in 1963, the Society brings together businesses, institutions, professionals, academics, and students who are ocean engineers, technologists, policymakers, and educators.
COVE will be open to the public on Saturday, November 16 from 11 AM – 2 PM. Join us for an opportunity to talk to our tenants, see their projects up close, and tour our facility.
