36th Annual International Research Ship Operators (IRSO)

The 36th Annual IRSO meeting will be hosted by the Institute of Marine Research in Bergen, Norway, from 22–25 September 2025. This esteemed forum brings together leaders from the global marine research ship community—representing approximately 49 organizations across 30 countries and managing over 100 of the world’s foremost scientific research vessels.
IRSO serves as a vital platform for sharing best practices in the design, management, and operation of research ships and scientific equipment. It offers an annual gathering for operators to exchange insights, collaborate on shared challenges, and promote safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible maritime research.
