The Ocean Technologist at FORCE will support the Ocean Sensor Innovation Platforms (OSIP) project under the guidance of the Field Programs Director, contributing to the deployment and operation of autonomous floating platforms and submersible sensor systems for sea-surface and seafloor environmental monitoring. This role involves maintaining oceanographic equipment, developing and using procedural and safety documentation, assisting with platform deployment and maintenance, and supporting vessel-based operations such as line handling and anchoring. The position also includes installing, troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining environmental monitoring instruments, compiling monitoring results, and assisting with reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Candidates should have strong mechanical and technical skills, familiarity with marine electronic systems and data acquisition tools, experience working in marine environments, knowledge of sensor integration and communication protocols, and required certifications and a valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
