The Samqwane’jk project, funded under Canada’s Sustainable Development Goals Program, aimed to advance SDGs relevant to Indigenous and coastal communities in Atlantic Canada. Three Indigenous ocean businesses—3D Wave Design, Miawpukek Horizon Maritime Services, and Sma’knis Maritime Safety & Security—were selected as project proponents. From June 2022 to January 2024, these businesses participated in workshops to develop sustainability business strategies and track progress against their target SDGs.
