SailGP held its inaugural races in Canada from June 1-2 in Halifax Harbour, featuring teams from Canada, Australia, Emirates Great Britain (GBR), France, Germany, New Zealand, Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, and the United States.
During their time in Halifax, COVE had the privilege of hosting Billy Gooderham, Flight Controller for the Canadian team, at our May Ocean Connector event. Billy discussed the F50 Catamarans used in sailing, his role as Flight Controller, and provided attendees with an exclusive preview of the upcoming races.
COVE also had the opportunity to meet with the Emirates GBR team, who make it a point to engage with local companies and organizations promoting climate action at every race location. COVE CEO Melanie Nadeau collaborated with the Emirates GBR team on a video discussing how COVE supports companies in advancing their technologies to achieve sustainable goals in the marine sector.
