Xeos Technologies is looking for an experienced, versatile Electrical Design Engineer interested in the opportunity to have a big impact on a small ocean technology company.
Xeos designs, manufactures and markets oceanographic sensors for ocean scientists, engineers and technologists around the world. Best known for our XeosBeaconsTM line of tracking and recovery beacons, our products help clients monitor and communicate with their ocean assets using GPS and satellite technologies. As we continue to develop and expand our oceanographic sensor lineup, we require a versatile systems designer and problem solver to help us grow our product lineup.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical development of new products
- Design circuits through to board layout for new products
- Troubleshoot existing product designs and support manufacturing department
- Provide operational manuals and training information for new products
- Provide feedback on new products and features Qualifications
- Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent engineering discipline with 5 years minimum experience
- Proficient with the use of electronics CAD tools including schematic and PCB development
- Experience with the following would be considered an asset:
- Design experience with marine based electronics
- Satellite, cellular modem integrations
- Designing low power products for autonomous applications
- Developing embedded systems
- Firmware development; knowledge of C, Python and/or Java
- Low power water quality sensors
- Excellent design standards and strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage workflow under tight timelines
- Experience in creating manufacturing documentation and procedures
- Must be able to work independently, as well as effectively within a team
- High degree of organization, with the ability to prioritize tasks
