Dartmouth company has made more than 100 ships around the world easier on the environment this year

Mo AlGermozi boarded a plane in Dubai on Monday with another purchase order for his game-changing paint. The CEO of GIT Coatings, headquartered in Dartmouth, was taking part in CIOP28, the global summit on climate change.

“We got a PO from being in Dubai, with a UAE company,” AlGermozi said from the airport. “Our presence here was well worth it.”

Paints produced by GIT Coatings in Dartmouth improve the efficiency and sustainability of ships by minimizing drag and reducing the overall emissions of the vessel.

The company recently applied its graphene-based products to the hull and propeller of the Halifax Transit ferry Rita Joe.
