DESCRIPTION:The 36th Annual IRSO meeting will be hosted by the Institute of Marine Research in Bergen\, Norway\, from 22–25 September 2025. This esteemed forum brings together leaders from the global marine research ship community—representing approximately 49 organizations across 30 countries and managing over 100 of the world’s foremost scientific research vessels. \nIRSO serves as a vital platform for sharing best practices in the design\, management\, and operation of research ships and scientific equipment. It offers an annual gathering for operators to exchange insights\, collaborate on shared challenges\, and promote safe\, efficient\, and environmentally responsible maritime research. \nEvent Highlights \n\n\nHosted in the scenic city of Bergen\, with venues including the Scandic Bergen City Hotel. \n\n\nFeatures a robust program of presentations\, discussions\, and social activities designed for research ship operators and associated stakeholders. \n\n\nRegistration includes in-program activities\, daily refreshment breaks\, and a formal event dinner; optional team-building experiences—such as guided tours through the historic Bryggen district and a visit to Mount Fløyen via funicular—are available.
