Ocean Connector: Talent Attraction and Retention in an Employee’s Market

September 22 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Talent Attraction and Retention in an Employee’s Market

Currently, in the Canadian labour market, almost every employer has the attraction and retention of talent as a top priority. Employers understand that the employees they seek to hire and retain are in the driver’s seat. But do they understand what motivates their talent to join and remain at their company now? More importantly, what steps can they take to do this?

Tanya Lush, Director of Workforce Development, will discuss the latest trends in HR, the labour market, and redefining the workplace with subject matter expert Katherine Risley, Managing Partner of KBRS & Meridia Recruitment Solutions.

Katherine Risley is an experienced recruiter and trained coach. In addition to leading a recruitment practice that attracts engineering, operations, and manufacturing professionals, she provides oversight to KBRS’s HR consulting and talent development practice.

Tanya Lush and her team lead innovative and engaging talent development opportunities and projects that span the entire scope of ocean career literacy, early career competencies, skill set acquisition and overall talent development for the ocean sector in Atlantic Canada. Her work focuses on building a continuum of the talent pipeline for the Sustainable Blue Economy (SBE) that engages with all ages and stages of the career development cycle.
