Ocean Connector: SeaLeon’s Travels

July 18, 2019 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

What happens when an autonomous vessel enters an international competition to cross the Atlantic Ocean, from Nova Scotia to France?

The SeaLeon is a unique vessel as it is a tiny sailboat with a total length of 1.8 meters. It navigates autonomously (i.e. without human interaction) and its mission is pre-programmed by defining the waypoints of its route.

Join us July 18 at COVE for our Ocean Connector as Jean-François Bousquet, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Dalhousie University, tells the tale of the SeaLeon’s journey, the engineering design behind the vessel, where it is now and what plans the team has for it next.
