CWOIL Conference 2023
May 9 - May 11

The Canadian Women in Ocean Industries Leadership (CWOIL) Conference will take place May 9-11, 2023, at the Delta Hotel in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The Conference will bring together 150+ ocean professionals in the ocean sector, including representation from equity-seeking groups: 2SLGBTQ+ community; Indigenous communities; persons with disabilities; and racialized people. The CWOIL initiative aims to attract, develop and retain a robust, diverse and inclusive talent pipeline that includes women from all origins to enable and accelerate Canadian innovation, research and technology development, and market and export leadership in ocean industries. From May 9-11, 2023, the CWOIL Conference will see further discussions that will formulate an action plan for ensuring more women become leaders in ocean industries. Additionally, there will be a celebration of current female leaders in ocean industries.
COVE’s Director of Workforce Development, Tanya Lush, and Marine Technical Specialist, Kennedy Sittler, will take the stage at the conference to speak on how COVE is creating a pipeline for talent who want to work in marine tech and stay in Atlantic Canada.
