Industrial Participation, Irving Shipbuilding
Aaron Plamondon is the Director, Industrial Participation, at Irving Shipbuilding and is responsible for the company's multi-billion dollar Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) obligations to the Government of Canada. Aaron has over 12 years of experience in the defence industry, where he served in similar roles before coming to Irving. As further background, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Military History at the University of Alberta in 1998, and a Masters in Military and Strategic Studies at the Royal Military College of Canada in 2001, where he did a thesis on Canadian Defence Procurement. He subsequently did a Ph.D. at the University of Calgary focusing on defence spending, defence procurement, and civil-military relations in Canada. He published The Politics of Procurement (UBC Press) in 2010 and is a National Fellow at the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies.
